After 5+ years in academia and freelance journalism, Garima branched out into documentary filmmaking and works across niches on projects that have something to say about our world. She's passionate about exploring the big issues with nuance and integrity, and her background in research and journalism fundamentally informs her work.

A quick list of her recent projects includes a funded development on the international arms trade for Netflix, 2073 (WT) - Asif Kapadia's next feature doc about the state of our world, and Molly VS The Machines - an innovative feature doc exec produced by Kat Mansoor (Cow, 2021) about the tragic death of London teen Molly Russell who committed suicide after suffering the negative effects of social media content.

Garima is currently working on Once Upon A Time In Space, James Bluemel's next, for BBCTWO. Along with Director Michael Oswald (The Spider's Web),  she is also co-producing an independent feature doc on the British Empire and its use of Law, Secrecy and Propaganda to maintain control over the colonies while appearing to uphold liberal ideals. Her debut feature is in advanced development with BFI-backed London indie Story Compound.
